Meh. Brawn's got the championship buttoned up anyway. Yea I know. Still makes you wonder why he was pushing so hard at the end anyways, he was never going to catch Button. This is assuming he didn't have a mechanical failure. It's not like the battle was for first anyways. Lets see, push it to the absolute limit and then some in the hopes that by some chance Button fucks up big and you can overtake OR just be happy you get to be on the podium in one of the top 3 races of the F1 season after such a shitty year? |

Your laugh is useless to those of us who didn't watch the F1 race. Summary of the chain of events that make thee chuckle? SPOILER ALERT! The two Braun GP cars are running first and second going into the final 5 laps. Hamilton is in third chasing Jenson Button. Hamilton is about a second and a half behind but isn't making up any ground. Going into the final lap Hamilton is still way too far away to have any prayer of making a pass but he still decides to push it to the edge. Exiting a right turn he pushes too hard and the back end kicks out on him sending him into the wall at a very high rate of speed. Hamilton is out, Kimi Raikkonen takes his place on the podium and the last lap is finished under a safety car. |
| I like a driver that pushes it trying to make up positions and doesn't just sit on his ass. Hamilton is not going to win the championship and he has already won a championship so finishing third big fucking deal. McLaren is not going to win the Constructors Championship so Hamilton was racing. Call it dumb or whatever you want but he's their and none of us are. I think the cat has the talent to be one of the best F1 drivers ever. Now if he would just lose the metrosexual vibe he gives off. |

He's definitely one of the best drivers in F1 and I like that he's always pushing for positions but you have to be smart enough to realize that there is no way possible to physically make up the distance. It's not like he would have been settling for third, he couldn't have possibly done any better. Now instead he just screwed himself out of the podium at Monza. And talk down third all you want, placing anywhere on the podium at Monza for an F1 driver is a big fucking deal, even if you are the champion. |

Why is he one of the best drivers? He has driven fast cars that propelled him to be champion, but he has also made colossal errors in driver judgement and crashed out. Remember when he crashed on pit lane entrance in the rain? Not a great driver thing to do. Nor was todays crash.

Schumacher made many mistakes, even late in his career in F1, but most sane people still consider him to be one of the best F1 drivers in history. |

He has a lot to learn but he has the talent to be one of the best drivers ever. |

He gets paid alot of money to give it 100%. 1st or 2nd could of had a mechanical......it happens in racing. Exactly, which is why it makes more sense to keep the car on track instead of push, push, push and risk an incident when there is no way to catch them unless they have a mechanical issue. |

Here you go, sorry it's in german.
CRASH Oh, is it bad that I jump up and down and yell like hell when poor ol Lewis hits the wall?? |

I think Vettel, Kubica, and maybe Sutil and Rosberg may be better too. Hamilton is as good as Massa, but the combination of being Black and British gets him a lot of media attention. Yesterday's race gave me mad LULZ. Sutil showed a lot talent yesterday. He'll be a winner once he gets the chance. |

McLaren and Ferrari are in a pretty close race for Third. That's big $$$ in F1 - not just prize money, but pit space, transportation ect. |

If he hadn't been gifted with coming into F1 in a McLaren he never would have done as well as he did. That's a given. That still doesn't change my opinion that he is ONE OF the best drivers in F1 right now. There are a handful of drivers that are much better than him(most of which you already listed) that either don't get the recognition because of Lewis's unique position in F1 or because Lewis is new and exciting and guys like Alonso are old news. It amazes me that Kubica gets so little recognition. I can't believe there isn't more talk about him going into the silly season, especially with BMW dropping out(if they can't find 3rd party funding). |

How do you explain that he managed to tie Alonso in his rookie season when Alonso had much more experience and the confidence of two world titles already under his belt? In my opinion LH is one of the most talented people on the grid with respect to driving fast. However, he has shown that he tends to make mistakes under pressure. It's tough to compare him to Schumacher though. Shuemy was an incredible driver, but also knew how to work in a team environment and get the best from his people. He also held up remarkably well under pressure, was a master tactician and had a ruthless drive to win no matter the cost. IMO, Schumacher was the ultimate combination of positive attributes F1 has ever seen or will ever see for a long, long time. |

How do you explain that he managed to tie Alonso in his rookie season when Alonso had much more experience and the confidence of two world titles already under his belt? First, Hamilton had a huge advantage at the begining of 2007, he was familar with the Bridgestone tires and Alonso wasn't - if you think back to that season, all the drivers who ran Michelins in 2006 (Alonso, Raikonnen and Kubica) struggled at the begining of 2007 because the Bridgestones were radically different in their handling characteristics. Second, at the begining of the season, Hamilton was recieving all of Alonso's telemetry traces and using them to learn how to drive the laps. He was actually using Alonso's traces in the McLaren simulator to practice, according to some reports. In the second half of 2007, once Alonso was familiar with the Bridgestones and had an agreement from McLaren to keep his telemetry confidential, he outscored Hamilton. The second half of 2007 is where I became sold on Alonso as a great driver. He showed up every race weekend, at a team where he was hated and EVERYONE wanted to see him fail and beat the Golden Child. That sort of thing takes a heart of stone. As far as Kubica, I think the silence on his prospects may be in his favor. The fact that his name isn't being shopped might mean he already has a deal - hopefully at McLaren or Brawn. At least I hope so, it would be a shame if he had to waste another season at a team like Williams. Last rumor I heard is Rosberg at Brawn, which could be a sign of weakness - everyone has had him at McLaren for weeks, so if his people are floating something else now, it can't be good. I'd love to see Kubica in either the Ferrari, McLaren or Brawn. Unfortunately, Ferrari has like 12 Drivers signed for 2010, if you believe the reports.
