Last year there was a show off your kids thread, and I was suprised with the amount of posters who had twins and triplets.
My youngest boys turned 2 in March. They have taken the terrible two thing to another level. The thing that bugs me the most is the fighting. How did you deal with it? They will get into a screaming/biting/hitting fight over a toy. I seperate them and take the toy away. Then they are buddies again five minutes later. Until one of them finds a toy that he wants as well. |
| My twin girls are will turn 4 in November and it has been a noisey 4 years! There is always some conflict going on with them. The most irritating thing about them is that you have to almost use "water boarding" to get any facts out of them! It is never a dull moment around my house! I also have a 8 year old daughter. Seeing the twins grow up is like watching re-runs of my oldest girl. With three daughters I will surely die broke, but nothing is better than three daddy's girls! |

These two are non stop naughty. One will distract me, while the other one is doing something he knows is naughty.
I passed it off as a coincident the first couple of times. But Gabe will find me and crawl up in my lap and give me kisses. While his brother gets into the cabinets and pulls out as much junk food as he can grab. I found some pictures from right before they were born. My wife and I look 10 years younger. Not 2. |

I am one of a set of triplets.
I have no idea how my mom lasted as long as she did! We were hellions! All of our baby pictures show us with scratches all over our faces. Our haircuts were all crooked because we wouldn't sit still. We seemed to always be going to the emergency room for something. But then we joined the Navy and mellowed out! Link |

I have twins who are older now but when they were around 2 and 3 they were a handful.
Poster above is right about silence. If it's quiet they are asleep or up to no good. It got to the point we had nothing in their bed room except the beds. Dressers. They climbed up them. Clothes on the floor and the drawers open like steps. I would check on them at night to find the mattresses half on the bed and half on the floor. No sheets. They were passed out where ever. One night I check on them to find that a crayon was left in their room. One of them had literally scribbled on EVERY wall like they were coloring. So all around the room about 3' high. I'll remember that forever. All you can do is laugh. |

But seriously don't get too worked up over it, alot of things are bouncing around in those little heads. Just keep cool and keep it all Fair. |

My boys will turn three in October, and they are KILLING me. We're in the potty training stage, and in the past week, they have both shit and pissed on the floor while running around without diapers. Usually they are fine and will run to the potty chair when the urge strikes, but today my oldest boy (by 14 minutes) left a huge steamer on the floor of the play room, then a few hours later I hear water falling and look to see the younger one looking down at his junk and pissing on the floor. I freaked and yelled, so he freaked out and ran around spurting piss everywhere. Dammit.
Oh, and they fight over toys too. When we can, we'll get two of many things and label them so they won't fight, but they still manage to have melt downs over toys. When it comes to that, I take the toy away. Don't get me wrong, they are great kids and the daycare folks always compliment me and my wife about how well behaved they are, but they are more work than I can describe. |

We buy two of everything as well.
The problem is when they sneak into my oldest boys room and take one of his toys. Which causes a huge fight between the two of them, then my oldest finds them with the toy causing a huge fight between the toddlers and him. Then there is screaming and crying for me to make them all happy. tonight was a large model car. my oldest ended up giving it to the twins. But there was only one, so they fought all night until I found one in the garage that I had. It was a model of my 73 mach that I bought 6 years ago because it was the same car. Well that made one of them happy, the other one pretty much turned green with envy. Luckily my parents have been pretty good about buying two of the exact toys for Christmas and birthdays. If the toy is not exactly the same. They will fight over it. |

We have been half assing the potty training. They are just not ready. They show absolutely no understanding of why they are naked on the funny round thing. Half the time they get up from the potty chair and piss on the floor. |

My boys mind fairly well. Except when they are left alone for a few seconds. Then they go ape shit.
My day usually starts out with getting them out of bed and downstairs for morning milk. I will grab a cup of coffee and usually get the urge for my morning grunt. I will plug them into a TV show while I slip into the bathroom. I do not take marathon movements. Its usually 3 minutes max. But in that 3 minutes my boys will realize I am gone and tear into anything that is not bolted down. Last week it was 5 pounds of sugar, mixed with dish soap and water from the dogs bowl. I walked into the kitchen and slid across the floor into a sticky/slippery mess. My 9 year old is usually so engrossed with "baby shows" that he would not notice if the twins had set the house on fire. |

Wife and I are expecting our first children......twin girls.
I'm Irish & German, wife Puerto Rican & Black with the famous latin temper. I do a slow burn, but usually wind up calming down after 5 minutes of venting. She will hold a grudge.... I'm desperately hoping the girls look like her, and have my temperment.....otherwise, we might be tying prokchops around them to get the dogs to play with them. Regardless, I will be builiding a man-cave in the basement complete with locking bathroom. With all these wonderful stories of raising twins, I cant wait to get schooled by ours... Nick |
