Google has this thing where they change the look of their famous logo to incorporate certain holidays and even to celebrate birthdays of famous people in history, I am sure most of you have seen this right? Most often I see this and think "Oh boy, not another one" but occasionally I find it cool and interesting, like the Nikola Tesla lightning one.
Well, this morning when I went to Google.com I expected to be impressed knowing that today was a tragic day in US history as well as a day that served as a "call to arms" for many Americans. As such, I thought it would be very patriotic. What did I see…Zip! Nada! Nothing! Just the regular multi-colored logo. So why did Google decide to do nothing to honor 9/11? Is this a sad commentary on our society when St Patricks Day, which is celebrated in name only and is more or less synonymous with drinking and partying, gets a nod, but nothing for 9/11? Or is Google run by a bunch of slack jaws with questionably lineage and moral character? *steps off the soapbox* |
