Have about 350 cases, but all my discs are in my 400 disc changer.  Any reason to keep these cases?

Yes. Especially if your 400 disc changer is a Sony.

also, if it is a Sony, especially a DVP-CX444ES, or the like, the have a nasty tendency to put a little crecent moon shaped DEEEEEEP scratch in to the DVD's.

Had about 10 or so customers that had this happen to.

A few of them were hooked to Escient DVD-M100 Media servers, which accesses every disc to look up information... so EVERY disc was scratched.

One customer had 3 of the changers hooked to the Escient, so they had like 1000+ useless DVD's.

Last I heard, they were trying to get Sony to replace them all.

I lol'd.

Damn.  I had the Sony 200 disc DVD player and their 400 disc CD/mp3 player and neither had that problem.  I guess I got lucky.

I used to keep them, but a while back started just tossing them. If I had a house and a lot of extra storage space, I might have kept them. But for the past few years, I've been moving around too much and they really take up a lot of space if you accumulate a lot of them. I keep them in disc albums.

Any regrets ?
I have been thinking about doing this for several years. I did it with my CDs a few years ago but for some reason, haven't done it with my DVDs. They take up a lot of room in my small house.

Not so far. The way I see it, there's only two conceivable reasons to keep them.

1. If someday I have a house and want to stack them in a cabinet where I can see them all, like a DVD library.
2. If someday I want to sell them.

In both cases, I can easily live with the loss. I don't have any plans to sell any DVDs any time soon, and in the future they may not be worth much anyway, case or no case, so no point in worrying about that.
