My dad, who is 70 now, recently got into the polymer frame of mind with a Glock 21sf that I had talked him into. He could not resist 13+ rounds of 45 in a package that would fit his hand so I found him a good price on one.
Well anyway, sitting around, drinking a few beers the other night, I could not resist but bid on a Streamlight TLR1 to mount on the sucker. Well I won the auction so in a few days he should be receiving a surprise package at the front door. I figure it should come in handy if he ever goes to investigate a bump in the night. Sorry, just had to pat myself on the back with this story. |

Should have got him an XD45. ![]() +1. there was a post a few days ago about someone who fired his Glock because he dropped it & grabbed it... grabbed the trigger & put holes in something like 3 townhouses. This wouldn't have happened with an XD. Well, that's why you're not supposed to grab the trigger unless you're pointing it at something you intend to put a hole in.

On my father's 80th birthday (November 1992) I went to visit and have a little cake. He and my mother had discussed something that caught me off guard. He offered to sell me his mint pre-lock S&W 442 for $250. Due to failing health and being in constant pain, my folks thought it best that he no longer keep a gun in the house. I had $50 on me and gave it to him with the promise to pay more on it. At the Christmas get together, I gave him an envelope with $200 in it. He gave the envelope back to me and told me to take good care of it of the Smith.
He passed away 10 years later, only 2 weeks after his 90th birthday. Whenever I carry the little revolver, I'm constantly reminded where it came from. |
