The only cure for bacon is more bacon.



ETA: can you eat cured bacon without cooking it? I don't want to, just curious. It seems like you should be able to.

I did not cure that but thats how I like it! I can buy it at the local Foodland by the house and they will slice it any way you like it. Been thinkin about building a smokehouse and doin it myself. My grandparents always did that and I learned as a kid.

The thin-sliced is easier to fry to a crispy, razor's edge.  

If you ain't bleedin' after eating bacon, it's not crispy enough!

I like all sorts of bacon, thick, thin, brine cured, dry cured, smoked, unsmoked, american style, canadian bacon, english bacon, danish bacon........

No.



Why is that? You can eat smoked cured ham without cooking it again, and most bacon is prepared in a similar way.

Why is that? You can eat smoked cured ham without cooking it again, and most bacon is prepared in a similar way.





Because the curing temperatures for bacon aren't hot enough.
