Over this past weekend I decided I needed a place to hang some tools.  I usually am not the do it your self guy.  Here recently had a real "do it yourself" attitude.  This goes from everything including car repair to this project.  Before this the last time I did any wood work was in the 6th grade during shop class.  Measuring, sawing, etc was a bunch of fun.  Love the smell of fresh cut lumber by the way.  Anyway this project was very simple.  My next project is going to be a long work bench. So what have you made?

Here is my weekend work.

The start of the peg board.

starting to put framing on the wall.

Finished product after cleaning the garage.

I really like the L shape. Its hard to see in my photos but I am thinking of starting the work bench on the right where the peg board starts and bringing it to the left wall.  You cant see it but if I bring it to a L shape it will look really good.  I will get some decent photos tomorrow.

Thanks guys. It helps to have a very good frined who is a Carpenter/Cabinet maker. He did the Corner cabinet and one set of shelves for me. I did the rest.

The bench is some of the formed countertop from Lowe's with a basic 2x4 frame. It works great for a gunsmithing/reloading bench. I just have to be careful not to do anything on it that will chip or dent the surface. I have another bench in the shop that has a 4in vice and grinder on it - that is where I do the serous work on.

I think you have plenty of room in there for an L shaped bench with some cabinets or shelves above it. You can never have enough space for storing your stuff!

Well I'm far from a handyman, but I'm in the process of painting my house, and found a rotted
out window. My house was built in '39, and if you have any experience in the older house
matters you know how difficult it is to do large scale repairs to these old structures. None of the
measurments are standard, and the thins usually are like fitting a square peg in a round hole. It
may not be much but I'm proud of myself for fixing it , and doing it well. I don't have any close
up pics, but the newer looks better than the older. Here is my Build/Fix.

All ripped apart.

All fixed

The backyard before...(but after we had redone the pavers and poured a concrete ramp)

The gate detail...built it from scratch with stainless hardware and redwood.

After the overhang is done and the hottub in, with the grill placed...the backyard is done!
