We are thinking about processing our own deer this fall. What is a decent meat grinder that will last for a couple of years, doing 3-4 deer a year?
Our group likes a lot of ground meat, so most of the roasts will be turned into chuck as well. I'd like to spend under $200. I don't THINK I would mind using a manual hand grinder, but I have never done it. Thanks for your help. |

If you wanna make HH6 happy, get a Kitchen Aid stand mixer and the food grinding attachment. ETA - they have a sausage stuffer attachment available as well. |

These do work well...I have one of the stand mixers and grinder attachement. The meat grinder works pretty well. Be advised that it's not a fast process for using the sausage stuffing case though...it does work, but takes some time to make cased sausage with the stuffing attachement. |

Get the grinding attachment for a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. |

Yes, you would. never used a hand grinder but I'm going to agree with Silence I've always had the impression that hand grinders were for people that wanted to make a few burgers or a few pounds of sausage some weekend from sirloin or some other solid piece of meat and wanted to control exactly how much fat got ground into it |

If you're going manual, go bigger than you think you'll need and go antique.
Way back when, they made manual grinders that were no bullshit and intended for professional hard use. Tons of them lasted straight through today and can be had for a song if you keep your eyes open. |

Cabelas 3/4 horse power, I love mine, ground a deer in less than 15 min. A kitchen aid will just piss you off. Spend the extra money, it will last for years if not a lifetime. This is very true. Buy something nice and have it to pass on to your kids to use. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Another vote for LEM.
This one is 100 bucks and will grind circles around a kitchen aid attachment, and last years longer. grinder It's not as nice as the stainless units, but a lot less $$ and gets the job done. |
