Well after more than 4 years of faithful service, I think it's time to retire my Dr. Martens steel-toes.  There's hardly any tread left and they have about as much ankle-support as a pair of socks.  I've always wanted a pair of loggers, and since I recently found out my work will reimburse up to $160 for boots I figure now is a good a time as any to get a pair.  I found a pair of Chippewas with the same kind of "squared-off" toebox as my Dr. Martens had/has, but I don't know anything about the brand.

So, what's the skinny on Chippewa?

Bought a pair of their briar pit stop lace up packers, awesome looking boot. After a few days of working in the rain the stacked heel started pulling apart like a deck of cards, sent them back on my dime for another pair, same thing again. From what I'm told they used to make a hell of a nice boot, as far as I'm concerned those days are gone. YMMV

The pair of logger boots I have on right now have lasted a few years. They don't look as good as they used too, but they are still very comfortable.
