| Is this release candidate licensed like a final product and are all of the people I see saying they are running it "testing" it via a shared license or can anyone get a licensed copy for free? What happens with the RC version when the final product rolls out? It seems like a lot of people are using Windows 7 for free right now and I can't imagine Microsoft willingly supporting something that they did not make money off of. |

I am still waiting to see if anyone upgrades over their RC installation. I am running RC 7100 right now on my work computer, and I love it. I am not looking forward to reinstalling everything when next spring rolls around though. I also don't really know if I should buy a full version or an upgrade version... |

You don't have to reinstall everything. Just do an upgrade install and use a valid key and you RC will become a retail. |

RC1 is Ultimate;if you choose anything less you may not appreciate it as much.Like a heroin dealer they give you the good stuff free then the piper needs to be paid.I love RC1 and installed it over Vista home premium which I also had no problems with.RC1 starts to phone home 3/1/2010.I will not pay the price for Ultimate they are asking. I will revert to Vista or go a different way; sort of slipstreaming and sliding away. |
