We just bought this place and the grass is good in some areas, still green, other spots it's brown and pliable and other places it's brown and crunchy. Can I get the brown stuff to grow back? I was going to get some weed-n-feed but I want some advise before I just start buying things that may not work.

| Reseed the bad spots, water is good but I also like to add my own plant food. In a garden sprayer add 1 can of real beer (no lite), 1 can or real soda (no diet), and 1/2 cup of ammonia (it's liquid nitrogen). This is powerful plant food and is very good for vegetables as well. The non dead brown spots will green up and the whole lawn will get much better. I do this once a month. |
