Depends on the dose (there are different Ambiens, including regular and controlled release) and the beers (real beer or some Lite crap) - also body mass.
If you have to do it, why not break the pill in half? Ambien is pretty potent on its own. Alcohol will amplify the effects. |

Not sure about 2, but I agree about the nicer dreams. Here's my take on it. It isn't necessarily a tranq, but more of a "sleep aid". That's how it was described to me. The time I took it, w/o alcohol, all it did was help me stay asleep. Didn't MAKE me sleep. |

I take the generic version of ambien cr as needed. I started last summer. Took whole pills then. And on most nights. Got tired of vivid unsettling dreams, etc. Did some research and found a LOT of people saying to avoid it and lots of stories of people doing wacky stuff. So I quit cold turkey for two months. Now I just cut them in half and take a half pill a few times a week as needed. I have REAL trouble sleeping, so I do need it once in a while. But DO NOT allow yourself to get "hooked" and need it every night. Because it'll stop working but you'll still need it to sleep at all (that's what I've read and what I've experienced when I took a whole one every night.)
I tried melatonin and that didn't work to help me sleep. Neither did Sleep MD. What has seemed to help is taking two valarian pills and a night time tylenol and then reading for 15 minutes or so. It works most nights anyways. |
