| How can we repel skunks? |
|
Well their food source I think is the bugs in the dirt, so can't do much about that. . .friend of mine has some "skunk traps", which I may have to use. . .
Basically they are large PVC pipes that have loaded doors. . .pipes are not big enough for the animal to raise it's tail––-which it must do to spray––-so you can then pick up the trap, transport it and open the door and run like hell till the animal leaves the area. . .at least that's what he told me how it went for him. . .I'd rather not have to deal with all of that if I could find away to repel them. . . someone told my wife ammonia soaked rags or moth balls. . . .anybody know if those would work? They are spraying like a mofo, there is no wind and we are dying here folks! |

55gr vs 62gr
1:7 vs 1:9 2 mags will suffice to get you killed 87 mags of ammo minimum Wear full body hard armor Blade at 45, take a dump Uh, I live in a suburb of NYC. . . if you set off a firecracker, the cops will show up. . . I have sufficient firepower, ––––-and I'd like to remain in lawful possesion of them. . . |

Ultrasonic pest repeller using batteries or plugged into an outside electrical outlet.
http://www.bugs2020.com/animal-control.htm I don't really bother...when I first moved to the ranch I'd go out and blast them with the shotty but it's a waste of time and makes more of a mess and lingering smell then if I just ignore them....they come up on the porch and eat with the ranch cats....gotta count black cats when I put the feed tray out....they are pretty nearsighted and if you don't get up in their grill and scare the shit out of them they are pretty docile |

Good, accurate air rifle. At least 900 FPS in .177" or 700 FPS in .22". Shoot the head, wait until they stop squirming, then cover with a trash bag. Wait 30 minutes, then wrap in the bag and place in another bag or two. Off to the landfil. I shot a possum earlier this week with my RWS 48 in .177". Took 3 shots but it was a 10 pounder and my first shot ended up low between the eyes, So I followed with a neck shot and then heart. |

I had one under my wood pile. I went to a feed store & bought a botttle of Coyote pee.
That stuff is nasty! Put some on 3 small sponges & placed them around the wood. The Skunk was gone in a few days. I heard he moved to section 8 housing in Dallas put this is just a rumor. |

Well, we found out what the problem was. . . the skunk was sick––-he's dying, or dead right now in my wife's garden. . .My wife found him there this am twitching and convulsing. . . he's covered in flies. I was going to bag him up, but he was still moving about an hour ago. . . poor little stinky guy. . . wish I could blast him in the head and put him out of his misery. . .I have a grammer school directly abutting my property and they have a day camp going there––-tons of kids and counselers. Definitely a no go as far as shooting. . .although, I think I may invest in a good air rifle . . . Do they classify them as "firearms"?
Anyway, I'm wondering if it was rabid? I saw it last night around 10:30 pm but it was not aggressive or weird acting. . . .I guess he (or she) was so sick that they couldn't control their "stink" spray apparatus? Don't know the pathology of dying skunks. . . .I'm going to bag him up, even if he still is moving. . . will engage wife as bag holder. . . |

just bribe your local democrat ward boss to put forth some legislation outlawing skunks.
it's worked well against crime, right? EDIT just read your last post - call animal control immediately, and do NOT touch that skunk. don't let your dog near it either. skunks are just plain nasty. |

I terminated a half grown skunk a week ago, and it's momma and sibling are next. They're living under the shed and don't really bother anyone, except when the wife opens the front door and one is on the porch looking at her! Our last skunk when the kids were little was named Bob. Bob lived under the front porch. 6 yards of mud later, nothing lives under the porch now. |
