Help!
My comptuer (A sony vaio) has been infected with spyware  called "System Security"
I read a few forums that you can get rid of it with a spyware removal program, however I have about two minutes to do whatever before the spyware program starts and locks up my computer. You guys know anything to kill this virus?

Download Malwarebytes http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Install it... Reboot the laptop, hit F* to get it in Safe mode, run Malwarebytes and see what it comes up with. Click on Start, then Run, type in MSCONFIG, take out anything shouldn't be there. Reboot
Hit the internet and see if it comes back

Also download hijack this program and get a knowledgable friend to go through the entries.  I think that particular spyware hides and loads on startup..

Ok, it searched through on the first pass and picked up 80 different files that were malware. I got rid of them using malwarebytes and it put them in "Quarantine" and then I deleted those files. Will update after more intensive testing.

i got a similar bug just before independence day.  for whatever reason it fucked with a BUNCH of my Hardware, rather than running through and reinstalling all of the drivers i just did a system restore.  Hopefully you wont have that issue.
