I'd LOL, but I live in Milwaukee, where this happened:

Damn conciense, and not wanting to be a hypocrite isn't letting me have fun in this thread...

I am a Construction Science major, and most of our grad students are Indian. There are basically ZERO
safety regulations in India.

That was a Lampson Crane, built in my old hometown. If I recall, the wind was too fast to lift that day, and the operator told them so, but was ordered to do it anyway.

Sounds about right from what I remember. I was working at Miller Brewing at the time right on the other side of I-94 when it happened. And it was an OSHA crew filming it, and they didn't speak up or say anything about the lift either.

I wish that I could go back in time and tell myself to take more pictures when I was living in India.

I grew up helping my step-Dad with minor construction.  I had a decent idea of what was safe/unsafe, and I saw a boatload of unsafe construction practices in India.  I remember seeing bamboo scaffolding over 6-stories high, with little Indian construction worker dudes all over it.  No fall protection was used from what I could see and remember.

Now that I have a Civil Engineering degree and a few years of construction QC/QA under my belt, my only question regarding the video is....where can I get one of those bitchin' lavender hard hats????

I remember seeing a 3-story apartment building that had sunken up to half of the first storey.

Yep.  Americans won't take the hard majors.  I had a Full Bird pretty much beg my mech engineering class to go to grad school because there are so few American engineers out there.
