Just a little background information.  I live in PA.

I have a coworker up from Georgia training for work.  His residence is GA.  He wants to buy an AR and I have an extra complete lower that I would like to sell him.

Am I able to sell it to him here in PA even though his residence is GA?  I can type up a Bill of Sale.

Any info would be great.

Thanks

I think it has to go through a dealer. I asked before about buying out of state and everyone said I had to buy from a dealer not private sale.

It will have to through an FFL ...... that is, you both go to a PA gun shop and fill out the paper work and he takes possesion of the gun.

Also, I believe you have to declare a value of the gun and pay the 6% PA sales tax - could be wrong with this .............

Take it to your favorite and most trusted gun shop.

But, I seem to remember something about only being able to do this type of transfer with a boadering state in PA - your FFL should know the rules.

Worst case, it will have to be shipped to an FFL in GA and the transfer done there.

Last I heard, PA had a law against (just FFLs? anybody?) selling to non-residents unless they resided in states bordering PA. But I could be totally wrong.

I believe this will be necessary, because a lower is a firearm, but it isn't a rifle.

Get in touch with his local shop and ask what you need to send them and how to do the transaction.
