I've heard there were a few threads asking about me, so I figured I'd say hello. After I got back from Knob Creek I started up Summer classes, and now I have a week off until the next term. Yes, I'm single now and am not currently working. I'm not drinking as much now either, lol. My computer is a little screwed up and I'm probably about to get a new one. My 4 year old Dell is on it's last leg. But oh well, I've been productive spending less time online.

Me and some buddies have started going out to the Noxubee Wildlife Refuge to hike lately. Here's some pics. It's absolutely beautiful and plenty of cool things to see. It's actually a Bald Eagle habitat and there are nesting birds there. I haven't gotten to see any yet though.
But here are a few pics of the place.

Here's a pretty damn big American Aligator. The largest one on record out there was 12' long. This one was probably between 8-10'. I'm guessing it's the dominate male in the area, because he just chills out by the road all the time out in the open. People park and take pics, and watch as he just swims around doin his thing.

This is the view from one of the trails. It's a mile long trail that runs along this stream. Cyprus trees are everywhere, along with signs of wildlife on the banks. There were hundreds of mussel shells that had been opened surrounded by raccoon tracks.

The bamboo that grows is huge out there. It made me want to build a Gilligan's Island style hut.

This is a different view of the lake that the gator is in. This is down a half mile boardwalk that dead ends at the edge of the lake with a small pavilion and fixed binoculars to check out the birds. Across the way, the birds were nesting. There were thousands of egrets. I thought there was a water fall or something in the distance until I realized it was the countless birds singing. It reminded me of one of those documentaries you see from Africa with huge flocks of birds nesting. It was kinda surreal. Seeing the birds flying across the lake to nest kinda reminded me of the end of Jurassic Park when the pelicans are flying beside the helicopter. Unfortunately, the setting sun made for poor bird watching, but the view was amazing.

And a final picture of the refuge's sign with the setting sun. I'm no Zack3g, but there ya go.

Edited to fix some pictures.
