No thanks. I tried a "free subscription" to Men's Health once. The sent me one issue with Barack Fucking Obama on the cover and then hounded me day and night to pay for a 2 year subscription. I signed up for a free subscription to Maxim that was posted here a few years ago. Got two years free, and when that ran out I started getting FHM. Never got a bill or a call. Is Maxim still worth getting? It used to be cover-to-cover full of hotties and sophomoric humor (that's what I liked about it). It looks like it's slimmed down in recent years. |

I had one of the free 'scrips (courtesy of ARFCOM The hotties were nice to ogle, but two things turned me off: 1) Serious discussion of $300 bowling shirts, $600 "military inspired" boots that wouldn't stand up to a day with a ruck or 100 miles on a bike, and $imilar froo froo gear; 2) More than one occurence of anti-gun sniveling that did a great disservice to their namesake. But hey, if it's your gig, then have at it. And for the heads-up regardless. |
