I sold my '67 S-Code fastback Mustang last year .  It had sat in my garage for the last six years, and needed to go to someone who would actually drive it.

But I did love that car.

Funny you bring that up. My dad only ordered cars with big block engines. I have had muscle cars my whole life. I have been without one for 4 years. I just bought a customized Mustang last week, it is a sweet car.

My dad said his 68 ss 396 Camaro would loop itself 180 degrees if he stomped it doing 30 mph. All it had was a shift kit.

Excellent.

I've had a couple hot rods, none kick quite as much ass as an 8,000lb 600rwhp diesel truck though.

...on 35's too.

The last pic brings back memories, 2 years ago I installed a Roushcharger on a brand new 07 GT. The guy that owns the car passed me on my way home from work the other day (driving my econobox ) I was going 70 and he passed me like I was in reverse.
ETA I found the finished pic I took with my cell

I used to own/still own:

1983 Z28
1984 Z28
1986 Z28 (still have it, but it's a basket case & sits in my Mom's shed)
1988 IROC
1990 IROC/1992 Z28 frankencar (my current ride, but the fuel pump is shot)
1992 Firebird

None of them were/are anything special, mostly stock. The 90/92 has a 350 TPI & a previous owner put low gears in the rearend, along with a spool. So it will smoke 'em all I want to. But it kills the mileage & the tires don't hook up worth a shit, so it can't really accelerate like it should. I've got all sorts of ideas for this car, but I don't want to sink the money into it right now.

ETA:
Here it is, it needs a wash, but it ain't going far without that fuel pump.

I love the old muscle cars. I really have a thing for the sleepers though. Mopars and  AMC were good for this one. You could order the most mundane looking  grocery getter with the biggest V-8 they made stuffed between the fenders,  and all the good stuff.
I remember reading an article in some muscle car magazine about 20 years ago where a guy answered an ad for a late 60's Chrysler Newport 4dr. When he went to see it, the elderly lady explained that her husband, who had passed several years before, had bought this car to tow his boat. It had been stored in the garage for years.
When the guy looked it over he found a Hemi under the hood and a 4sp. manual gearbox, no-spin diff. Of course it had A/C and all the bells and whistles too.
Upon researching the vehicle, he found that it was one of only two built like that. As of the writing of that article, the other one had not been found.
Needless to say, he bought the car, had some minor restoration done etc. The articlr valued that car as "priceless."

I had a '68 GTO, that  metallic forest green color, with white interior.  It had the 400 ci high performance engine and 4 speed transmission.  That was over 30 years ago... I wish I'd never sold that car...looked like this one:

My first car, got it when I was 16, from the original owner in 1976 for $625.00 with only 31,000 on the odometer. A numbers matching 1967 Camaro SS 350 with the 295hp 350ci small block, a Muncie M-22 transmission, and a 12 bolt posi with 4.10 gears...all from the factory. Boy....what I would give to have it back.

This picture is Summer of 1981, and the girl was my girlfriend that summer.

I've driven some insane supercars at work (Lambo, Ferrari, Maserati, etc.) but the Camaro that came through this last Friday was absolutely tops.  '69 Camaro SS.  Red with the black stripes, black leather, and just plain perfect.  I don't know enough about cars to tell you what engine it had in it, but it moved like nobody's business.  The sound was fairly orgasmic, as well.  I'd have taken a picture, but it was bought, paid for, and taken out on a flatbed before I could blink.

I also saw a brand new '10 Mustang Shelby GT500, and I about crapped my pants.  Holy shit is that sexy.  The slight redesign for the 2010 model really works.
