I am 45. After a lifetime of looking I finally met Her. Clicked like Velcro. Always laughing. Good times. The problem: She's 18. I do not need this. So I ejected. Feel like crap but it was the right thing to do. Let's hear yours. |

You guys are killing me. Haven't you knuckleheads ever done "the right thing", huh? How do you look at yourself in the mirror every day? Answer this: What made the relationship "inappropriate"? The age difference? Or was it that you realized that she was into you for something other than companionship? |

To each his own, but seeing clearly what is fair to everyone involved is a good thing. |

What was the problem, aside from her age? If you were able to relate to her on even ground and you two genuinely cared about each other, I don't see why it is inappropriate. No other real problems. Non dramatic, clean gal. Cute. Curvy not fat country girl. Wonderful. Except. I could never, no matter how hard I tried, believe that I wasn't in her way somehow. The thought wouldn't go away. So I did. |

For advice on inappropriate relationships please contact the GOP. I hear they have added consultants to help people like you as they are well versed and experienced in the field of inappropriate relationships. ? Are you saying that the GOP has a higher ratio of inappropriate relationships than any other group? |

You guys are killing me. Haven't you knuckleheads ever done "the right thing", huh? How do you look at yourself in the mirror every day? And where the fuck does it say that giving up your happiness and forcing her away from what appeared to make her happy was "the right thing". Once you're adults, capable of making your own decisions, everyone else can piss up a rope. If she made you happy and you made her happy, what kind of "social norm" are you living by that says what other people think is more important then developing a loving, wonderful relationship with someone who you care about and who cares about you? Going by the bible? Where in there does it say that 45 year olds can't date 18 year olds? Frankly, why do you care so much what others think? Why didn't you care what SHE thought? It's obvious to me that you didn't care about her that much because what you assumed are everyone elses opinions mattered to you more then her opinion. I feel bad for her. She didn't deserve to be hurt like that. <CoC violation removed> |

Feel like crap but it was the right thing to do. Let's hear yours. I'm 43. She's 19. She won't stop putting her hands on me, and yeah, she is a good looking girl. Frankly, women don't even get interesting until they hit their late 20s and start to figure out that guys who want to hurt them aren't exciting, just assholes. Something is very creepy about her wanting to put her hands on me. I know she is legal, but somehow it seems like it borders on pedophilia if I reciprocate. |

The usual M/F stuff. No more "daddy Issues" than the average woman has. Less in fact. |

This is the liberalness leaking out of you. It feels natural because it is human nature. Our laws don't take that into account and we're instructed to not use it or it is wrong. |

You are handling the situation like a gentleman. There seems to be a shortage of those in this thread. Sad but true, you did the right thing, I think. Those are some HUGE years between 18 and say, 23, probably on par with the changes from 15 to 20. If she was 23 and you were 45, I'd say "dude, go for it." There's no way she could know what she really wants at age 18, and that would just lead to heartbreak and misery for all parties involved down the road. |

She is a consenting adult, you are a consenting adult. I honestly don't see what's wrong. People are not objects to be used just because they are willing, and understanding a young woman better than she understands herself can open your eyes to the dilemma. He obviously saw more from his perspective on the matter than you see from yours. |

I completely agree with you.
I'm 45 and I have a 19 yr old step-daughter for chrissake. Having been around my teenage stepdaughter I know what the maturity-level is. Yes, they look great at that age but a 45 yr old man needs a woman, not a teenager. Otherwise you end up raising her. I'd be embarrassed, in my mid 40's, to be seen hanging out with a teenage "partner". Everyone would think it's creepy, because it is... |
society has you brain washed. when you feel old young=bad

As for these blowhard's, it is simple, they have no morals. That and they have yet to encounter a Father like me... |

At this point in my life (48), I drift with the wind a little easier. |

Case in point, I have a hard time imagining myself dating a woman under 30 years of age. I don't have time for kids, no matter how nice her baby ass looks.
