Oh yeah. he lacked a few inches to go nontypical, so I lost about 10 inches on the spit G2s on the typical score sheet net. Oh well he is still a 140 class buck to me.

He's a great looking deer. I wouldn't have hesitated to shoot him.
I don't care for the way deductions are taken for certain scoring clubs. I'd like to see the buckmaster scoring system become a little more accepted, since it grants points given on total inches of antler. I would say that someone looking for the perfect, symmetrical rack would be happy with the scoring sytems that are widely accepted now. I just hate to deduct from what's there, just because it isn't perfectly balanced. |

Those scoring systems are less than perfect, they deduct for inches of antlers that don't have matches and add inches of air for width. That is kinda silly, but over all it works. We all know a 140+ is a true trophy with a bow no matter which sytem is used.  .

If no one hunted, the animals of the world would be in deep shit!
Elephant hunting (not poaching) even for trophy is done on an extremely regulated basis. It keeps the population in control or deals with tags for problem elephants, it does not slaughter them to extinction. The money earned from african safari hunts keeps the animals alive instead of letting them be exterminated. Deer hunting- fun, challenging, fun, tasty meat, did I mention fun?- keeps the population in check and prevents disease and overpopulation problems. Would you rather the deer on my land that I have been watching since they were fawns die of starvation in old age, or be hunted at around their prime after living a happy deer's life? Varmint hunting - fun and helps with pest control. I can bet any true hunter does not wish extinction on any animal. I could go on and on about how hunting helps the animals. I love animals of all sorts to death (pun intended ), i think most are furry and cuddly and I would also love the opportunity to hunt them in all the most exotic places in the world and also in my backyard.
