Am I doin' it right?

ETA: requested details.

Steak is a reasonably thick T-bone cooked over charcoal on a Weber with garlic powder and black pepper, garnished with fresh garlic sauteed in butter. The garlic was actually way overcooked to the point that it was crunchy, but I actually liked it and I think I'll do it that way from now on. Green stuff is a Greek salad my wife made. Beer is Budweiser in a "Big Ass Beer" mug from Big Nose Kate's in Tombstone. Firearms are Century CETME from J&G, Springfield GI model 1911, Walther P-22 with a Gemtech Outback II.

Also, I'm not a lefty; that's just how I ended up laying things out. I guess a fat guy would rather have his utensils at the ready.

Here's help.

You need:
- 1 close up of plate
- 1 shot of everything
- 1 other angle of everything
- Description of stuff on table
- Cooking/Prep pics if desired

And you'll be good in terms of pics. You covered the in-picture standards.

7/10 for bad lighting and no close up

[#13]
-5 because those mags are so cheap that you should have your table stacked high with them.  No excuses - this is arfcom, dammit! and we have standards to maintain!

Probably not the first time this was ever said on ARFCOM, in reference to something else.

OP: 8.5/10, no potato and you need a better beer plus a reload for the P22.

Full of win.

Beer - Check
Meat - Check
Rifle - Check
Handgun - Check
Reloads for both - Check

Also, I'm not a lefty; that's just how I ended up laying things out. I guess a fat guy would rather have his utensils at the ready.

Fatness is not a rational excuse.  If you want your utensils at the ready, put the napkin and fork on the left, and the knife on the right (blade toward the plate).  That enhances utensil readiness; you can't hold both knife and fork in the same hand.

Pistol goes to the right of the knife, handle to the right.  Spare mag goes on the left.  Switching those two items does not interfere in any way with the availability of utensils.

Beer goes on the right, above the knife.  Certainly that doesn't interfere with either tactical readiness or beverage availability.

The design on the plate is a little busy for the presentation.  Would work with a chicken salad, but not so much for a steak.  But, maybe that's all you have.

Decent food.  A little starch wouldn't hurt.  Maybe a potato, and/or some good quality bread (not a slice of Wonder Bread).

Nice guns.

[#34]
Everything appears to be in order. I don't see a reload for the Walther though. However the abundance of other guns makes up for that. Steak looks good, doesn't look over done. Salad looks great too! You could have chosen a better beer, but to each, his own. I only take points off for coors anyway. Suppressed weapons always = win.

Yea I'd say you are doing it right!

10/10

+1 for using charcoal too. Propane is made of fail and aids. It is for communists and girlie men

Final: 11/10

I don't use a thermometer. I grill by the seat of my pants. I determine when the meat is done by the amount of time it has spent on the grill and the feel of the meat when I pick it up with tongs (spatulas are for burgers and forks have no business anywhere near my grill)>

I just bought that CETME a couple months ago and something has been bugging me. Am I required to post a shower pic?

The rules for a dinner pic simply say there must be a knife, not what kind of knife it must be, though it is implied that the knife be capable of cutting your food. There is a steak knife in the picture. Use the right tool for the job: steak knife for cutting steaks, tactical knife for cutting tacticals. Besides, if they get through 40 rounds of South African 7.62 NATO and 14 rounds of 230 grain .45 ball, maybe it's time to pop smoke and call for fire anyway, not poke folks with a knife.

You're wife's gonna be pissed that you put teh gunz on her fancy place mats.
