Quoted: What's up with this 11:11 fad/trend. I don't get it. Some people (myself included) see it all the time. I've been seeing it since early 2001. It starts with clocks. You feel compelled to look at a clock at exactly 11:11. That's all well and good, but can easily be explained. What's tougher to explain are things like waking up at 2:45am (according to your watch) with your alarm clock blasting away with 11:11 flashing on the screen. Or walking into a room at a party, and seeing the scoreboard of a football game that shows 11:11 left on the clock. Then coming back throught the room in the next quarter and seeing 11:11 on the clock again. You can't subconsciously time that. Then the real weird thing is when you start to find out that tens of thousands of people are experiencing the same phenomenon, almost exactly the same way. 9/11 was very disturbing for me (besides the horror of the attack itself.) I'd been seeing 11:11 a LOT in the months leading up to the attack, and the alarm clock incident was just days before. 11 is a sacred number in the Koran. 9+1+1 = 11 The twin towers look like the number 11 Flight 11 hit the North Tower and it had 81 passengers and 11 crewmembers aboard. 81+11 = 92 = 9+2 = 11 There are other refences to the number 11 on the day. Coincidences all, I'm sure, but tie it in with the weirdness of the 11:11 phenomenon, and those coincidences become rather unsettling. I don't know what it means (if anything.) I do know that it feels like much more than simple coincidence, which, given my strongly empirical nature, is very tough to say. Not sure it's any weirder, per se, than saying God spoke to me. Certainly not as acceptable. |
