Beat the living shit out of the primer of a round?

A couple of weeks ago i shot my first USPSA event and as I was policing my brass I noticed a HEAVY primer strike.  I own 1911's, wheel guns, H&K's etc but none of them beat the shit out of a primer like my G17 does.  I am almost concerned about piercing the primer its hitting it so hard.

Anyone else seen this issue before with Glocks or is it S.O.P.

Blow up?

My 19 hits really hard, leaves a rectangle shape on the primer. Every casing out of a glock I have ever seen does this. And to make sure that it fires with hard primer ammo like military grade stuff in the small countries that use glocks.

Probably to make sure you don't get a light primer strike.

Because the firing pin isn't round?

9mm so no fear of KB.

This was the first time i have shot a round that had the red sealant on the primer (S&B) and that when I noticed it.  Same rectangular impact with a dimple in the middle.  On a non sealed/painted round never noticed it.

So it will function using sub-gun ammo?

Actually, the firing pin does not retract when the action is unlocking.  The dropping barrel causes the "smear".  This happens with a weak firing pin retraction spring on a 1911.  Or a series 80 mess-up

I know 9mm will not blow a glock but someone had to start making the kB comments on a glock thread.

Heavy is good. Light is bad. Why do you care? Are you reloading your primers?

My 19 hits hard too.  Buddy and I went shooting and he was putting some Norinco 9mm through his S&W and was getting somewhere between 10-20% light strikes, I picked up all the misfires, loaded up my mags with it, and they all went bang with no problems.

Both normal and intentional.  It is one more reason glocks always go bang.
