I have a boil on my ass (top of butt-crack) that started off as a normal boil...I lanced it about a week ago and it seemed to go down. Now however, it is large and about the size of a bean, but it is black...as in straight black. It no longer is really painful, but it feels smooth and like there is a fluid sac underneath the skin. Is it time to go to the doc or what?
Lastly, there is a recurrence on boils in this area if it matters. Thanks |

That is not a boil, that is a cyst. Cysts on the tailbone are pretty common. It might go away for a while, but it will likely come back bigger and badder than ever.
It has to be removed, then left open to heal from the inside out. More |

Thanks Go to the Doctor already, Boils are Nasty and this day and age any skin infection will likely be MRSA the kind of staph infection you don't want. They probably will I&D (cut and Drain) and clean it out. And in the Future , wash your sweaty ass crack man. |

More +1 had one on my neck and they had to cut it open, pack it with gauze shit and then stitch it shut...apply some sort of shit the gauze/ stitch combo on my neck daily..then go back in a week and have it reopened and have them yank out the 3 inch long peice of gauze..  only a tiny scar though, barely noticable.

Had one of those, very unpleasent removal too I had it for four years off and on, with me lancing it myself and it going away and coming back. Could not get rid of it.
