What a profound short little paragraph..... 1931

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931

Just a thought for today

Yeah, obama knows all that.  He is actively seeking to marginalize everyone of us who know this to be true.

Sounds like it goes with, "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."................

Too bad the government didn't heed that in 1931...

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

How painfully prescient.

Actually, in 2006, 52.6% of American's received a substantial portion of their income from the government.  And, the percentage is growing by leaps and bounds under The Little Bitch.  It's telling that the average income for a US family is about $50k, and the average federal employee make $75k.

It isn't going to turn around until the system completely collapses.

Just sayin'.

I'm 26 years old, and I haven't ever really seen "bad times" before, at least not when I was able to realize what they were.

I don't know if we're reaching a critical mass or not, but I sure have a bad feeling in my gut about the direction in which we're all headed...

Did 1 minute on google to try to confirm quote.  Looks to me like "Adrian Rogers" was born in 1931 and didn't give the quote in 1931.  It appears the quote is from this book:

I'm not 100% positive but I think this date is kinda misleading.

If this is the Dr. Adrian Rogers, born on 1931 and died in 2005.  He was the pastor of a very large Baptist
church near Memphis, TN.

The 1931 date is his birth.

Try around 60K (excluding Congress)...around here, that's like a high step GS-9.
It's ok if you are single, but I'm not.
Don't make near 60K either, let alone 75K.

eta:  I guess this proves I'm below average.
and...there is mucho truth in that quote, no matter who said it or when.

With all due respect to Mr. Adrian Rogers, I think this falls squarely in the "No Shit Sherlock" category.

It shouldn't suprise anyone that half the population is not going to willingly become a serf class.
