** warning - language ** Driver turns tables on Accomack deputy ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A YouTube video of an Accomack County Sheriff's deputy allegedly speeding has become the talk of the Eastern Shore. The driver who videotaped the deputy later confronted him. "I'm coming for you," the driver says on tape. "You can't run baby." What could be considered a dangerous way to prove a point has become an internet favorite. "I was in shock that someone was stupid enough to actually do that," said Accomack resident Elizabeth Walraven. The video, shot earlier this month, has had more than 20,000 hits. The driver films himself chasing down the deputy he believed was speeding. "I just got you on video blowing by me at 90 miles per hour," the driver said to the deputy. At one point the driver's speedometer hit 90 heading down Highway 13. "He was holding his cell being a commentator," said Accomack County resident BJ Bundick. "That is ridiculous. It was irresponsible on his side." Accomack County Sheriff Larry Giddens says Deputy Jason Campbell was simply caught on tape making a mistake. He tells WAVY.com the young officer wasn't responding to a call and shouldn't have been speeding. The sheriff says Campbell has been disciplined. He wouldn't tell us Deputy Campbell's punishment. "You're scared aren't you," the driver yelled at the deputy during the chase. The identity of the 20-year-old cameraman remains a mystery. The 8-minute video shows him honking and getting the deputy to pull over. He then confronts the officer and the deputy lets the driver go. |

Thats funny lol. One thing though, officers need to get a bit of practice now and then in safe conditions. If they never go over 55mph we can't expect them to safely respond to calls or high speed chases without practical experience. Around here, the law would disagree with you. Well, maybe not disagree per se, but it doesn't care about this "practical experience". If the cop was speeding and wasn't on his way to a call with lights and sirens, he's no better than me burying the needle on the interstate and is subject to the same penalties. Theoretically.

Am I the only one that see's both of them running stop signs, and why was the deputy running???????? He had to see this dueche on his ass and then he acted like a complete pussy. He needs to be fired and the kid needs to be throat punched. This is what happens when two internet commandos actual run into each other in real life |

He said deputies undergo more than 20 hours of classroom training in addition to field training before being put on duty.
![]() A whole 20 hours. Less than 3 full business days and I too could be a cop. That's awesome. Screw getting more advanced Cisco certs. |

Enforcing the laws does not mean you are above them. That is something in the MD and VA area that is often overlooked. Unfortunately, the man who does something about it is a complete and total jackass. Why can't somebody with at least an average IQ score be doing this stuff? don't say, "because someone who is smarter knows better" On another note. I got passed by cop doing 75 in a 65. He caught me on the right day and I said, "I am so sick of this one sided law bullshit" and began following him 85.......95.........105.......115. A black SUV comes up and I think how insane this guy has to be driving a SUV at 115. Well, he hits the lights and I pull over. The undercover car I was following keeps on going and the SUV and I park on the side of the road. Cop rolls up and asks, "Do you have any idea how fast you were going? I say, "Yes, the same speed as the undercover car in front of me.. Then.....he says, "Have a nice day" and leaves. I almost passed out. Nothing ever came of it. I had nothing more to say or prove. I told him to enjoy his day and be safe. |

Once thru lights go off and he travels on his merry way..

The video would have been funnier if the civilian had called out his rifle-armed buddies to take down the officer and proactively disarm him.
You know, for "Citizen safety" during the stop. *loud PA system* "Officer! Show me your hands! Slowly exit the vehicle and walk backwards towards me. Ignore the two guys who are pointing loaded rifles at you. They are trained professionals. I need to disarm you for citizen safety. Your firearms, baton, spray, radio and everything else on your person will be returned to you disassembled in the trunk of your car after this stop." |
| Funny that the kid was saying how scared the cop was while he himself was shaking so badly that he could barely keep the camera up to his face. Cold, my ass - that was fear with a captal F. I'm not sure how he wanted things to work out but if he ended up getting out there without a court date he's too damn lucky for his own good. Mow-ron. |

I think they mean in addition to going to rookie school... Here you go to the Academy, then when you get hired you do about a week or two of classroom stuff at the department, then you go through FTO. |
