Been out here about a week now, and it's been awesome!  I don't have the time or the screen for a full post-processing job, but here are a taste of the photos I've been able to get:

More when I get back!

My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary in Yellowstone in the fall, late Sept-early Oct. The Park came alive with the first snowfall...

I would also like to visit in the spring...

Nice pics and thanks for the post...

Great photos.

Last time I was there (1980) I don't think they had much for wolves yet.

All the pictures were taken with either a Canon 1D MKIII or a 40D, and a 100-400 f4.5-5.6L IS lens or a 500mm f4L IS lens usually with a 1.4X or 2X teleconverter.

Heh...my ass is soaking in the seat of my rental car.  I flew into Jackson Hole, which is only like 50 miles from the park's south entrance, and Yellowstone only has 312 miles of roads total.  I haven't gone further away than Gardiner, MT, which is 5 miles from where I am staying at Mammoth Hot Springs, yet I have put over 1500 miles on the rental so far...

Actually no...they were taken all over the park.  A few of the wolf pics were in Lamar, that's about it.

What magnification/lens?

ETA: Never mind. I see the answer.

Yellowstone is unbelievable for viewing wildlife. It took us a while to see a wolf, but we finally did.

This is a great time of year to be there, before the real summer crowds descend.

I was just there on the 15th.

Damn traffic jam made me have to backtrack from exiting the north entrance, went out the west and got a chance to see Hegben Lake "Earthquake Lake".

Damn it was windy while I was there.

Nice pictures. I love that place in the summer time.

I was there 20 years ago, if you go there after Labor Day, the crowds thin out to almost nothing.
