Without getting into too much detail...
I have to use a hand-held barcode scanner in very sunny conditions. I'm scanning a card the size of a credit card. It's mobile so I can't be under a shade structure most of the time. It really sucks when it takes you a minute to scan a barcode which should only take one second. Most of the time I have to turn my back the sun and try to create a shadow on the card to scan it. Ideally there would be some kind of sleeve on the scanner that would cast a shadow over the card but I haven't been able to find an accessory. I'm open to buying new scanners, buying something to fit over the scanner, or rigging something up. |
