| I have a vid file on my Windows based phone. The file won't play on my laptop. It's a 3G2 File. How can I get it to play on my laptop? |

I've never done it because I don't own a phone like this, and the opportunity has never come up. However, I *am* a "tech" guy, and I'm going to share a secret held by all tech guys just like me. We shamelessly google for information. That's how we "know" so much in a short period of time. We live in a wonderful time. 20 years ago, this wasn't possible. I typed "3g2" into google. First hit was a wikipedia entry on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3GP I clicked it, and found the following tidbit of information: "When transferred to a computer, 3GP movies can be viewed on Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms with MPlayer and VLC media player. Programs such as Media Player Classic, Totem, RealPlayer, QuickTime, and GOM Player can also be used. Some cell phones use the .mp4 extension for 3GP video." I use VLC media player on both Windows and Linux machines, and I highly recommend it. You can download it here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html Google, an inquisitive mind, and the desire to read are the secrets of my greatness. |
