ETA: I don't own an AR-15 anymore either.  Glock 19/17 is the official handgun This. It overwhelms every CCW poll on here. I've already got a Glock 19 and 17... They're some of the only handguns I've kept.

This is heresy, but....
Carried a 1911 since 1987; love the damned things, wife's is a Para shorty. Was issued a G22 for duty but since I was on a dope team, could still carry my Colt. 1911 handles/points/shoots better for me, is all. That being said, I shot a friend's G21 and G20 the other day. I simply cannot provide a scientific argument for choosing a 1911 over either of these guns, and kaBoom stories notwithstanding, a shooter with any Glock I've seen would be well equipped. They're just not for me, and I'd say any shooter with a good 1911 is just as well off. |
