I just read a letter in American Handgunner from a guy in Mt. Sterling, KY.  He says his local WallyWorld has a sign that says, "Attention Shopers, no firearms, concealed or otherwise, are allowed in the building."  This is kind of odd for a store that sells guns.  I never saw signs in my local WallyWorld.  Anyone else ever see them?

The Walmarts around here had signs like that about a year ago. After everyone complained they removed them and no longer have any signs prohibiting guns in their stores. This is more than likely some managers Knee Jerk to an incident. Just bitch about it... And BITCH ALOT and it will go away.

The Mt. Sterling store has been taken care of. If your local store is displaying such signs, please feel free to advise corporate.

I wonder how they would enforce such a policy?

I dare say that if I was discovered concealed that I'm doing something way wrong - but it has happened and I've corrected those mistakes.

So I'm assuming that the retired guy at the door is not only going to greet you but also direct you to the x-ray machine and then wand you afterward.

Then there's the question can a private company overrule/regulate state law? Could they also post a sign in the parking lot prohibiting deadly dangerous SUV's, which after all, kill many more people each year than legally concealed firearms...

Bottomline is that it's a feel good sign for the liberals that doesn't do a thing to prevent crime at all.
