Watching this show with my friends and they are mounting .30 cals and other machine guns in these vehicles we are trying to figure out where they get the machine guns from. There is a good chance the weapons will get messed up!

Where would they get the machine guns from?

So could a dealer rent them to these people or how would that work?

Yes probably rents and he is on the set while the guns are.

Does Frontsite have a C3-SOT on staff?  Or are they a C3-SOT.  1919 post samples are pretty cheap....

Post 1986 Hughes Amendment production of a FA firearm that cannot be bought/sold by common folk.  Used for testing/dealer sample when they market to legal purchasers, like governments/police/licensed foreign transfers (State Department approval/export license)

They are MGs made after 1986 that SOT(Special Operational Tax?) FFLs can make. The downside is they have to be destroyed or sold to LEO/GOVT or other SOTs when they give up their FFL. They are not transferable to us peons though.

Then there are also Pre-May Dealer samples, which are MGs that were made by SOTS before the 1986 manufacture ban, but were never registered with the NFA. These are not transferable to people like us as well.

Incorrect...

Pre-May guns are foreign-MFG MGs imported between 1968 and 1986....

dont hollywood sets have "relaxed" rules ?
not that they dont have to follow them ,,, but looking to follow and putting forth the effort to follow the rules is enough for the ATF to leave your dogs alone.

Yeah they seemed to be in love with making everything explode, i looked on the website to see if they had some info about where the guns came from but i could find nothing. I guess i will have to settle for the post dealer samples or class 3 FFL/SOT answer...

Yeah i thought it was kind of gay it definitely wasn't what i thought it was going to be.

Really the only thing that was interesting to me was where the guns came from.

Yep, also, somehow bottle rockets set off tannerite.  The star of the show was the machine guns.

I didnt see the whole thing, all I saw was the "battles".

What I thought was the dumbest thing out there was that the "sheild" to protect the castle.  Now if you had to shoot the little opening only then yes a shield would be one thing but when you could shoot anywhere, what is that little "sheild" going to protect.

I did like the minigun at the end .... but they still couldnt hit shit with it.  I noticed the riccochets of the tracers the most.  But all I could think was, BRASS.

Yeah i liked how when they were sighting in one of the .30's you see a few hits in the dirt then no more hits anywhere as the gun is still firing then the car blows up with no noticeable bullet holes anywhere in it... that was about the time i decided to go play call of duty...

Exotic Arms Frequently Asked Questions by producers
- Answered by Vincent DeNiro

Q: Can I rent machine guns and have you send them to me?

A: No. Federal law prohibits the possession of NFA weapons (machine guns) by anyone other than the person to whom the machine guns are registered, class three dealers, law enforcement and military. I will work with your prop master or special effects coordinator.
