Air Guard out of St. Louis. I heard Tinker isn't a bad place to be. I don't think it will compare well to Hawaii though.
There are quite a few of us SF weenies around here, Active, Guard and Reserve. well, my wife and daughter are both there now, so that's my main goal to leave hawaii. that and the uber restrictive gun laws here. so you are going to be a butter bar? no offense, but can i ask why? myself, enlisted all the way. i'm sure ya know about how most af butterbars are treated lately. |

Quoted: I will be an old fart O-1 when I get commissioned in few months. I am SSgt. now and I came into the military pretty late. I enlisted when I was 31 and I really don't know why I decided to pursue a commission other than the opportunity was there and I decided I could be the kind of officer that I think we should have. Being older and prior enlisted should mean I will be bit wiser and less likely to be a pain in the ass to my people. I am also old enough to know who I should listen to for advice and smart enough to let my senior NCOs run things while I learn. Being Guard my friends will not hesitate to tell me when I am screwing things up. ![]() I know I am going to miss the camraderie of the enlisted, but once again the Guard is a little more mellow on things like that. I won't be ostracized by my friends after my rank changes. Oklahoma sounds like it will be a good change for you. As far as the original subject here, I old enough to remember Pantera when they were playing in the 80's. |

[/quote] not bad buddy! i'm SSgt, too, but relativly a youngblood still (26). glad you got some enlisted experiance before you decided to jump ship and go for a desk jockey title. hehe, i'm sure you can tell from my posts of my contempt twards officers . i'll be honest though, the only officers i liked are prior enlisted, so your good in my book.
i've been thinking about getting off of active and going guard, but am a little wary of losing my retirement benifits. hehe only in active duty could i retire at 38! but i digress, it's up to the family now i guess. hope all goes well for you in changing the eagle and runway on the flash for a bar! btw, once that happens ya gotta update your avitar

OH HELZ YEAH !!
Pillage the village, trash the scene But better not take it out on me 'Cause a ghost town is found Where your city used to be So out of the darkness and into the light Sparks fly everywhere in sight From my double barrel, 12 gauge, Can't lock me in your cage You see us comin' And you all together run for cover We're takin over this town Here we come reach for your gun And you better listen well my friend, you see It's been slow down below, Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell Deed is done again, we've won Ain't talking no tall tales friend 'Cause high noon, your doom Comin' for you we're the cowboys from hell |
