The first item is an I-Ching coin.
Looks like a reproduction i.e. fake aged new production. Going by the size it's intended as a "good luck" trinket or fung- shui-whatever design. The second item is very likely not ivory. I have a number of such "sculptures", they're mass produced and basically resin. A good way to tell is the cheap "gift box". Very common. These "sculptures" sell for anywhere from a few dollars to $50-$75 or so depending on size mainly. The one you have seems pretty large, what are the approx. dimensions? Like I say, I have several such pieces. Check out ebay. |

What are these called? They are made out of ivory and they have balls within balls and are hand carved. I don't see how you can mistake this for hand carved ivory. As mentioned, you can see casting bubbles. Aren't those cavities from the elephants not practicing good dental hygine? |
