That's funny because tonight I'm really thinking they kick ass.  I got an automated call from them telling me that my locals are now in HD for no additional charge.

You sure it's Dish Network's fault and not the NBA's?  If a game is blacked out in a region it's because the NFL/MLB/NBA tells them to.

Maybe you should hate the NHL.  Dish can only carry what they are given.

Red Wings aren't in the NBA.
It's on now and all is right in my world.

Thank God Chicago won early in OT or I would have been crying and blubbering.

Well, here's part of the problem....I don't follow sports, so you could tell me the Red Wings were a hockey team and I'd have to take your word for it...

The same DIrecTV that put in a dish for my neighbor who asked them about line of sight issues when the leaves grew back in on the trees in the line of sight.  Was told no, it wouldn't interfere.  Leaves grew in, signal lost, they wanted a $400 early termination fee and threatened to ruin his credit over it?

That DirecTV?

NFL, MLB, NHL....etc. regs
provider has nothing to do with it.
When I was working at the FOX affiliate people went apeshit when we had to cut out of a Packers game to cover the Vikings game.
I sent a crawl on the bottom of the screen that said per NFL regs we will have to cover the Vikings game at kick-off regardless of the outcome of the Packers game.
The phone rang at the front office with many hateful messages.
Station manager taped it and played it back for our amusement.

Dish will be more than happy to add the Sports Tier to your bill for a small token of $59.95 a month.

I like dish just as much as any of the other guys. None seem to be that great. But I like tv, so I pay them for their crappy service.

Some of you can call their service crappy, but after a year of local cable due to line of sight issues in a rental, I bought a house that had line of sight.

Compared to the local cable, watching Dish on SD is almost like having HD now.

You are confusing DirecTV with the fucktarded checker chewing subcontractors that provide "free installation."  Without exception these men and women definitively prove (once again) the linear relationship between what you get and what you pay for.

Call center customer service with any large company sucks.  In the 4 years I've been with DirecTV they've frustrated me twice over the phone.  With ComCast, that was a monthly occurance (...and the reason we went to satellite in the first place.)

Nope, he was a DirecTV employee.  I was there when he put it in and heard the question and answer.

Really doesn't matter, it cost my neighbor $400 for no reason.  Fuck DirecTV.

Sorry, won't take your word for it.  Because you worked for them as a sub doesn't mean that you know how they do things in all parts of the country.  I specifically asked the guy.  He was out of Brunswick and said he was a DTV employee.

Still doesn't change the fact DTV fucked my neighbor royally.  Even if the guy was a contractor, he was still a rep of DTV.

This was while I was in my rental house.  The Dish guy came out and said he could get me a weak signal but it would not meet the standards.  He was ethical and honest about it unlike the DTV guy.
