Making my lunch, spam and left over mac and cheese with hot dogs in it and I wondered about ARF.com.  So heres the stupid question of the day.

Who here has eaten spam and who likes it?

Sorry no pics of lunch and gun so I assume an automatic FAIL, though I did add pie to the poll.

ramen noodles with spam, eggs, sliced mushrooms and hot sauce.

FTW

I love fried spam!

Either as a sandwich with mustard or mayo, or as a side with scrambled eggs.

My wife doesn't eat it, so I get the single slice packs for when I want some.

Give me some right out of the can.  That stuff is off the fucking chain!
5/7/2009 8:57:45 AM EDT

Good stuff occasionally.
5/7/2009 8:57:46 AM EDT

I can eat it but it is not something I go out of my way to eat.

It's ok, although the last time I ate it was during the Clinton administration.

It's decent enough for canned meat.  The regular is too salty for me, I get the low sodium- even it is salty.  Fry it up, fry a few eggs, add pepper and hot sauce.

I've got to find a place here that has SPAM musubi.

Make your own. South Dakota (where I am) is not necessarily the spam musubi capital of the world ya know...

If it wasn't for SPAM a lot of Alaskans would starve to death, its that good.

In 41 years I finally tried a small taste the pther day. The jelly always reminds me of when I open a can of dog food(my kids eat it.).

I freaking love spam.  The first time I had it was years ago at the hunting camp.  My father inlaw cooked it with some eggs for breakfast.  I at first wanted nothing to do with it, but to be polite I ate some, and I have loved it ever since.

I love spam........with BACON!!!!!

Bacon Spam is a gift from the gods of Spam.

Its like heaven in a little can.

Fried Spam is the shitnizzle.

Plus, you can store that stuff for a thousand years for a SHTF scenario.  While others are eating Alpo to survive, you're eating $2.00 per can Alpo with added salt.
I'm pretty sure Uranium has a shorter half life than SPAM.

I like it with mustard on it, but only rarely, a vice.

Spam musubi with cock sauce. Or with rice and Tabasco. I prefer the low-sodium.

Even though I am eating it, it is definatly some nasty shit.  But I bought a bunch of it (never having it before) and I'll be damned if I'm gonna toss it.  I bought Low Sodium and SPAM with Bacon, it is going to get ate.

I haven't had any since I was a kid. I remember loving the stuff.

Agreed. Probably why I haven't bought any. It's "scrap meat". You'd think it would be a little cheaper. I'm guessing another case of "paying for the name".

I like SPAM every way except cold.

I like it pan fried until its pretty much black on both sides

here is one of my favs

take a can of spam and remove the lid.

cut slices into spam length wise and side ways.

take the orange powder mix out of an MRE and sprinkle it on top of spam.

cook it over a fire until orange glaze has time to caramelize and work its way to the bottom of the can.

serve hot.

now thats some good shit!!!

I've eaten Spam fried, baked, grilled, ground, in casseroles, in eggs/omelets, cooked on a stick over an open fire, cold out of the can, after three days of being open inside a backpack, sliced on sammiches, and another dozen ways I can't remember right now(
).

And while its not a regular staple, its definitely in the SHTF preps.

Let us not forget that Spam helped feed the troops during WWII.

It's ok if cooked, but I don't like it cold. Definately a survival ration.

I thought about it, but they couln't keep the stuff on the shelf, that's how I noticed it.

Grabbing a can of Manwich and the guy stocking the shelfs was telling me about it, didn't even have a case of the regular kind, might go back later today and see what the supply is like.

BTW what does a can of spam go for on Gunbroker?
