Thanks as always for looking.  I am going to be picking up an Instructor belt that will be used for open carry with 1911/P220/686 6in.  Which version do I want to get?

3 stitch
5 stitch
Polymer Lined

Thanks

I think mine is a 3 stitch.  I ordered it with some other stuff off of Larue's site.
The 3 or 5 would work fine for what you want to do.  The polymer lined one would probably be overkill.

ETA:

After reading up on them again, I am going to recommend the 5 stitch.

For general wear, 3-stitch.  The thicker/heavier models are for those who carry pistol, mags, handcuffs, radio, Taser, water bottle, knife, sword, Larue armadillo, blender, and socket wrench set on their belts.

Get the CSM... I ran the 5-stitch for a long time, wore it out, ordered the CSM, much stiffer, I like it better... I obviously like commas too.

The belts scream gun. Get a double thickness leather belt with a normal looking buckle for CCW.

I have a five stitch strong side lined instructor's belt that I use for classes and matches. I could have skipped the polymer lining and been fine.

Get the 1.5....hard to findpants that will fit the 1.75. I have Black in 1.5 and tan in 1.75. I wear the black more often due to fitting in more pants and shorts.

The 1.75 is too wide for a lot of pants. 1.5 works well for jeans and khakis. Go for the 5 stitch.

It will go great with your "shoot me first" photo vest.

I think open carrying a 1911 will scream gun enough for him no matter what belt he wears.

I think he missed the open carry part of the OPs post.

I have 2 5 stitch belts and they are great.  I carry a Glock 23, SOG tool, cell phone, and mag daily.

Re: The "scream gun" comment... Not everyone wears clothes where you see the belt buckle, I carry under an untucked t-shirt,polo, or casual button up shirt most of the time. I have leather gun belts (even one that tapers in the front so it looks like a dress belt) for when I have to wear a suit.

The best thing about a riggers belt is that you can get it to the perfect tightness w/o punching new holes in your belt... You can also loosen it when you eat too much

I still say you should have gotten the 1.5" CSM, but go with god.

FWIW: Most people have no fucking idea what a riggers belt is, it doesn't scream much of anything... Maybe you are an outdoorsy kind of guy or something.

1 1/2" 5 stitch.

I've tried a couple and settled on 1.5" 3 stitch.

1.75" wasn't comfortable at all for me.

Most people have no idea what a gun is and never look for one anyway...

Hey you, move that pistol, I'm trying to tell if that is a real or poser gunbelt you are wearing.

So how do you adjust those and fasten them under your various belt loops?  Just feed it through and then press down?
