what if there's a public execution downtown on a saturday at noon. would you go?
and if so, what kind would you prefer to watch? I wouldn't go. just wondering how many would. |

No,I'm not morbid like that.I don't want to see anyone die,even someone I think deserves it.I know,it's a little like meateaters bitching about the cruelty of hunting but I don't have any interest in justice being served in some applications.I don't want to visit a prison to look at people who're locked away forever either though,I want my criminals never seen again,thanks.
IME the deterrance factor of capital punishment is next to non-existant and I don't believe the idea of making it public would change that in any way. |

If the fucker deserves it, they deserve it. Maybe, just maybe if some of the ones who have a propensity towards committing violent/sexual crimes had to witness what SHOULD happen as a result, they might think twice. It's worth the dream, at least. |
| Executions should be public. However I would not go out of my way to go watch one. If it was a case that I had a personal interest in or really wanted to see the person die for the crime they committed I might go. Ie. Bin Laden being hung, the folks who raped and murdered that couple in TN, I would probably go watch. |

like some who responded, I have seen enough dead folks to last 2 lifetimes
BUT, some piece of primordal pond scum thats fucked up the life of a child or 10..I will not only watch, I wll stand and cheer and Sub for the executioner if he calls in sick lastly, in the day of public hangings, I dont think the crime and lack of respect for life issues were as prevelant in society then as now 
that said, I would mandate it to every 13 to 15 yr old in the country to see one, let them know what life can bring, taken in the wrong direction, |
