STOP getting on the new people when they ask a question.Even though it may have been asked 100 times and answered. Yes blast those who have been here a while and ask the same ? every week 10 different ways, but for heavens sake, how about answering the ? or at least give them a link to the answer, and then kindly inform them of the search function. A lot of you guys can probably visualize this site in your sleep, so give the new guys a break. Thanks. Rant off. |

Sometimes people go way overboard because they are either just major grouches, or try to play to the crowd here. Either way, some of the hostility here is completely unfounded. There are nicer ways to tell someone to use Google or the search function.

i agree... . search fu for non-team members blows and is WAY easier to ask then to sit and wait 60 seconds per search.. maybe if the ARFCOM gods would change that lovley feature you might not get all the dupe questions...

Unless my internets are broken - likely - the search function also appears limited for non-team. Sort of reduces the fault of failing to locate answers. Of course there are so many dupes you can usually expect someone else to post your exact question during any given five minute window. I will say I've never seen anything quite like the post count pride that goes on here. Screening out trolls, okay, understood. Still, plenty of folks lurk for a while before they join up. Me, I migrated forums when my usual haunts got salty over sharing universally recognized truths like "Obama is a fucking cunt." I digress, but still don't get what's with people who think thousands and thousands of posts over several years is roughly equivocal to the Legion of Merit. How much friggin porn gets consumed over that kind of a career? |

If you would simply do a search, you would find plenty of examples. |
