So I pick up a new mag for my P85 at Fred Meyers. Only mag I have seen in town over the last couple weeks. Clerk didn't bat an eye when I wanted to check the feed in the pistol so I popped the mag out of my pistol and checked the feed then and there. Worked fine. Swapped mags back; picked up a box of 9mm while I was there; paid. And headed out.
Went ahead and loaded the mag with rounds. Pretty stiff, more so than I expected. Remembered the clerk mentioning 10 round magazine when I was pretty sure it was a 15. But whatever. Went ahead and jacked the rounds through to check feed (don't ask...I just do that with every mag); fed fine. Re-loaded. Felt that very stiff spring again so I compared mags. Both look identical. But the new mag has .40 Caliber stamped on it
I found that to be interesting. The packaging was pretty old and didn't say what round the mag held. Hope they changed that since it'd make it easier. |

I find it interesting that Fred Meyer's carries pistol magazines. Not sure about anywhere else but, up here they have a hunting/camping/fishing department. The magazines are in drawers behind the counter...unless you ask about them, you'd never know they had any other than ruger 10/22 stuff. |

Though Wallmart has been chronically out of ammo when I've been checking. Can usually find a bit in Fred's....or a couple of the local shops. |
