I'm considering History as my Major. I've always been fascinated by History. One thing holds me back. Employment. I've gathered that it's quite difficult to obtain a job with a degree in History.

My question is: Any ARFcommer's have a degree in History, if so is the job market as bad as I've read it is?

Earned a degree in History because I love it.  Graduated from lawschool 3 years later and was never so interested in history in my entire life.  A whole new world opened up (didn't read much except law for 3 years) as far as understanding and analyzing history, politics etc...went back to school and earned a teaching credential.  Looking for a social studies teaching job right now.  Talking about history all day is the coolest thing I have ever done.
Gotta follow what you love.  That plus hard work will take you wherever you want.  Up to a month ago though, I was cleaning poop off of toilets for money.  History is a great degree because you learn about analyzing, writing, research...it's cool if you like it.  I can't imagine going for another degree...I would never have made it through all the bullshit that is college.
