| Does anyone like to eat boiled peanuts? |

What the hell is a "boiled peanut" and why are they so popular? they're green (raw) peanuts boiled in brine for several hours then cooled. A lot of folks soak them in fresh water overnight first. Other folks add spices (cajun seasoning or hot sauce) to the brine. And no, you don't eat the shells. |
| I love them... If they are boiled correctly... They must have the correct amount of salt, and they can't be over boiled... But better over boiled than under boiled. I also like to dabble with different peppers thrown into the mix for flavor. It's an art, that i haven't mastered yet. If you are ever in Columbia SC, stop by Crombers and grab a pound. And no, i don't work for them. |

I love boiled peanuts. I love them so much that, even though I can't get them here, I tried making my own (with green/raw/unroasted/whatever peanuts). That didn't turn out so well. Yeah, I used way too much salt.
Every time we head down south, we pick up some at the Georgia gas stations, which are about the only place I've ever seen them. |
| ok this is one thing I have tried and don't like. For years traveling through the south I have seen them at various stops and one day I told the wife I have got to try some, they are everywhere and they must be great. maybe I got a bad batch but they were tasteless mush. I could not believe people would eat that crap. |
