I just performed an inventory, and discovered that I have 39 pistols, with a broomhandle Mauser I will be buying in a couple weeks, that will be 40.
I have 25 revolvers, and am gonna have to get 15 more (want to have 40 of each,) though I'm pretty straight on my revovler inclinations––19 of them are S&Ws, and I see no reason not to continue.
But here is the rub:  I only have 19 rifles, and 8 shotguns.  So I need suggestions on 21 rifles and 32 shotguns.

Any thoughts?

What rifles do you have now?  Shotguns?

Without knowing that answer I'll say:

FN FAL
AR10
Bullpup (MSAR, Steyr, TPD)
Benelli M4
Remington 870
Saiga 12

21 Moisan Nagants  if you want to do it on the cheap.

Got the FAL and a pair of 870s.

But now an AR10, a Benelli, a Saiga 12, and a Steyr are on the list.

Forgot about the AR10 and Saiga.

(Seekin' ideas that I ain't thought up––-thanks, as those were eluding my brain.)

Nah––-but I don't have one, so one of them might be a good idea.

Mosins are neat, you need at least one M44 and 91/30.  I have a laminated stock version of each.  Speaking of classics:

K31
98K
Garand
M1 carbine
Enfield(s)

Good on Garand, carbine (National Postal Meter––HaHa!,) and Enfield........but you're right––need a K98.  Not to be too obtuse, given lateness of hour and alcohol....but the K31 is Swiss, right?

Indeed it is Swiss.  If you have any doubt you need one read here:

Why 40?

Why 40?

Arbitrary number based on 39 pistols with one more coming in a bit (though a few extra may creep in there anyway)––-but I figure if I focus on rifles and shotguns, and getting at least rifles to 40, I'll be more balanced in the collection.  (Given that S&W revolvers will always go up when I encounter nice P&R, or at least P, in the case of .38s, and that I only have one sporting shotgun––plus one that is the missus', though she lets me use it––Winchester 1400 in 20 gauge....wonderful gun...............)  Though I should add that a couple of pistols are on the way once a certain arfcommer gets my money order as well––-though only one is really for me, with the other being a present for said missus.

Not a straw purchase––-she can legally buy her own, and I have watched her do so.

Before anyone says anything.

Dang.  Three years can feel one moment like no time at all, the next like forever.................
