Purchased April 1, 2007. Standard Bushmaster.

Now looks like this (on top), sporting a standard A2 stock, MIAD, and Colt 1/7 20" bbl, and shares the safe with other AR's in various stages of completion.

circa 2002

Here she was after I traded a perfectly functional surplus M1 carbine for her... I was poor back then. The only actual Bushmaster part was the lower... no name LPK, model one 10" upper with ridiculous permanent flash hider. My experience with ARs was Army and I thought that they just worked. With this I couldn't make it through a mag without getting a FTE... cleaning rod needed to clear it every time. Of course that red dot was a joke! Lesson learned. All ready for the S to HTF, I think NOT.

Bushmaster M4gery with the fucking ridiculous mini-y comp brake. Sold it to a friend a few years ago.

Picked it up on the day they caught the DC snipers.

The day I bought my first ak was the day of the Columbia shuttle crash.

This was not my first AR, the first one my mother bought for me when I was 13, which was a colt HBAR. But I had to sell it when we moved from Texas. But this was the first one I bought, my bushy:

Here's my first and thus far only one. Bought it 3 days after my 18th birthday. I walked into the store expecting to buy an AK47 (I only had several hundred dollars) but my Uncle surprised me with a *very* generous amount of money, and this was in my price range. Granted, it was over priced but my eyes were like saucers when I realized I could buy an ar15. Cheap Chinese crappy scope, no bayo lug, ugly barrel, and realized when I shot it that the collapsible stock would collapse in on itself with recoil, so I had to buy a new stock. Still worth it.

LWRC 16" with aimpoint CompM4 - I figured what the heck.

Here's mine along with his ammo buddies.  Colt H-Bar 1/7 twist. Flat side.  I've been told that this particular rifle was supposedly made specifically a NASA contract back in the 90's.

[#35]
This is a bit embarrassing, but I'll share anyway.
I turned 16 right after the ban ended and my parents bought me my first and so far only AR. I preceded to immediately Tapco-fuck it with cheap, useless shit.

I have since turned it into a more respectable configuration.

CMMG lower

RRA stock/buffer tube

CMMG govt. profile mid-length upper

Have since added a MOE grip and a decent carry handle (the carry handle in the pic is a cheap stop-gap CAA...I kept that on for all of 2 months)

LMT 16" with some airsoft sight, GG&G BUIS.  This was in 2005 IIRC.  I was so fucking bad with shooting, that I could barely zero the fucking thing.  Was shooting XM855, $220 shipped for 1K.  Modeled by a friend.

Ended up selling my first rifle to my dentist.

Current rifle:

Shooting 55 grain FMJ BT, and Sierra Match King 77 gr reloads.

Learned a lot about shooting in 4 years.

I wish I could have 4 years of my life back, haha

ETA: I bought this lower during the ban and about a month later I bought a EA Co. rifle that nearly turned me away from the AR platform until I built this rifle... I took this picture for the ad that I used to sell it in '07... good riddance!

My first AR was a old Colt AR15 with triangle hg's I blew it up learning how to reload. Then a Colt Goverment Model, I picked up a SGW Car which to this day I still think had a 14.5" barrel on it, it also had little pins to keep the selector from going to the auto postion, than a HBar, with a Colt 4x scope on the handle.  Sold both of those back in the 80's for a HK91 (WTF), Then I bought a Bushy,  all that remains is the lower, I taught my self how to smith a AR on that one.  Now its LMTs and some customs.
4/6/2009 7:49:28 PM EDT
[#50]
I built this one first, then modified it a bit.

Now it is the 18in one on the bottom, all that is the same is the grip.
