This show has to be fake.  There is no way that people are that stupid, on either sided.

It has been theorized here by others, and I completely agree, that there are fake segments mixed in with real ones. The fake ones are very easy to spot.

I quit watching it because it goes too far over the top and gets more unbelievable the more you watch it.

And that big muscle dude would have been serving time already for the stuff he has done if it were real.

I don't know that there are any real segments.  The camera guys seem to make the situations worse.

yeah if they really pulled this shit they'd be in the clink and staring down a mountain of lawsuits.  the only show i watched was them repoing some dudes hummer.  the dude almost took a swing at the fat guy with a tire iron and got pepper sprayed for his efforts.  the muscle head tackled him and held him down and after a while the fat guy poured a glass of water on the dude.  water just reactivates the dried out OC.

then they rolled the informant by so the informant could gloat at the dude.  i bet that created a domestic for the cops in the near future.

unprofessional and asshats of the highest order.

I was just thinking that it was fake a couple minutes ago.

Did you see the one where they went into the back yard to "get the car" and a bunch of guys came out with guns?

I remember that one. Wonder how much the "extras" with guns were paid to take part.

I helped a buddy who worked for a tow service hook unauthorized cars at an apartment complex referred to by the locals as "Taco Towers" for the high ratio of mexican occupants. Every registered occupant was given a windshield sticker. Management would post flyers, slide notes under doors and post warnings that on "X 1st" any unstickered vehicles would be removed.

We went in with all three trucks and hauled two at a time. We only got a chance to make the one run before "Hey, man, that's my car" and his 15 buddies emerged from the woodwork.

Glad I paid attention on all the recoveries we did so we could get the hell outta dodge... especially with IL being a "CCW free" state.

I have seen other Repo shows, they snatch, grab & run, they DON'T WANT to talk to the owner, they want the owner to think it was stolen.  That is why I think this whole thing is fake.  Plus you never see them take them to an impound lot or anything.

I was also under the impression that the finance company had a set of keys too.

I think some (or a lot) might be staged, but you'd have to be in the field to see how stupid people are and how abusive some repo men are.

When I was first interning with a law firm I got the job of riding along with a comp for a few months to serve the papers involved and try to advise on some of the legality.

Crazy times.

I saw one where a fight happened, then was over, everyone was just standing there, and then a fat guy from the repo side walked up and OC'd the guy. Then it cut to a studio clip of him saying "yeah it was legal for me to do that"

I also saw one at a paintball field, wow that seemed fake to me.

It seems that they do everything they can to ensure a confrontation.

Was that the one where they claimed elongated dents in their SUV were bullet impacts? It looked like someone hit it with a baseball bat.

I for some reason found myself watching a marathon of it one night. I won't be watching it again. As someone else stated: It says the show is fake at the very beginning. "Based on actual events".

My favorite moment was the "muscle guy" manhandling a woman after having just expressed his disgust of men who do such in a previous episode.

He seems to get his ass kicked a lot, and I only watch the show when something else is about to come on.

it IS fake, and they are are'nt trying to keep it a secret that it is...they just don't really make it clear.  I know wikipedia is'nt the most creditble source but....

they re-enact the repossession of vehicles ordered for recovery by financial companies due to owners' lack of payments. The team is often confronted by actors portraying the real-life vehicles' owners, occasionally with prop weapons.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Repo

I really don't understand what the point of a show like this is when every think is fake.  Not even entertaining
