The sun is finally out around here now and will be for the next few days. So, what is proper mixture of sugar and water for a feeder?

The purple martins arrived at the farm a week or so ago.

For the hummingbirds, we just buy the powder at walmart.

But I have put a bunch of sugar in some warm water, added a bit of red food coloring and they sucked it right down.  I never really worried about the exact amount of sugar.
