I just gave my G19 3rd gen to my girlfriend as we just bought a new house and I want her to have a good pistol. Well , I found a NIB G26 today with night sites for $569 locally. I have a ton of hi caps for Glock 9mms, should I get it? I'm leaving in less than an hour so whaddya think?

I can't find any real compact 9mms I like. The closest thing I like is the MP9 compact but I don't think I trust the MP series yet. Bought a LNIB MP40 last week and already have it sold for $100 more than I paid.

ARFCOM thoughts?

I'd buy another 19.  I just can't get into the sub-compact Glocks.

Price doesn't even matter anymore.

They have an OD 19 for $509 NIB.

Don't think I haven't considered it. I love my 19 but I can shoot it when I want or carry it when I want, I just "gave" it to her.

I carried a 26 for years, until I decided to carry .45ACP.

I have large hands, and my pinky was completely off the magazine well, it never bothered me, but some people never get over the feeling.

Try one out before you buy it.

I really liked my G26.  Great shooter, 100% reliable.  However, I had a Keltec P11 that also held 10 rounds, was slightly smaller, and I could clip it inside my waistband with the belt clip deal.  So the Glock got carried less and less.  Finally traded it in for a Glock 19 (higher capacity) and it's great in a MTAC.

Don't they sell clips for Glock sub compacts?

High priced, but buy the 26.

Yes, it's called the Clip Draw.

Personally, I wouldn't carry a Glock around unless it was in a holster.

It is a fine deal with night sights. A NIB Glock is worth around $500. Add night sights, and your price is right there.

I have a 19 and 26.  I carry the 19 most of the time and leave the 26 loaded at home for the wife for when I'm gone.  You will not go wrong getting the 26.

I guess if I don't like it I can "give" her the G26. This girl is amazing. Every time I take her to the range she blows my mind at how well she shoots. And never shot before we met. I think women just listen better ...

if you get a g26 them you must get this. It is an amazing grip enhancer.
Also get a couple smooth faced triggers for the 19 and 26 due to the stupid import laws..

+1000 on this.  Your pinkie is supposed to hang off the G26.  Using the CC floor plate will give you a more solid grip than adding a pinkie extender.  I just wish they made one for the G29.

I traded one of my 19's for a 26 last Sunday...carries very well, too.  I'll carry the 19 when weather permits light jackets, but my 26 is worn with cargo shorts and a sleeveless teeshirt.

Sure thing skippy. And a semiauto pistol in 9mm or larger that is the same size or smaller and is at least as reliable as the G26/27 is....?

I tend to agree with what Tomislav said.

What other offering are out there that can be compared to the G26 for capacity and reliability and in the same price range?

I also think the recoil is more controllable with the 26!
