Wow totally feeling naked now.  Got back from shooting a few guns.  Had to go do some other things so put them in the gun safe until I can clean them later.  When I turned the handle to close the safe something didn't quite seem right.  Handle almost seemed like it was hitting against something.  Got it to shut but now I cannot get the safe open again.  The combo appears to work but the handle seems to be turning against a clutch mechanism.  I called Liberty and they couldn't help but have sent my name and info to a local safe tech.  Now I gotta wait for a call and it's Friday.

I've tried all I can.

Divorce your wife, then leave the house for a few hours.

She'll break in and get your guns out for you.

Or just tell her you got her a new diamond necklace and put it in the safe.  She'll have it open in five seconds.

Mine did that once... it was a sling that got cought between the door and the frame and was creating a wedge making it very tight. Had to lean in on the door to get the handle to turn.

That's what I'm thinking too but nothing seems to work.  I know the combo is good(digital).  Tried primary and backup codes.  It energizes but the handle won't turn.  There is no free movement(play) of the handle with it locked as before.  Well it turns but very hard like the lock mechanism has failed.  I've even checked the allen screw on the shaft.  I can see the shaft turning by removing one of the handles which makes the shaft visible.  The door is not jammed as it still has the loose play in it with it closed and locked

Oh and NO wife to try the other suggestions!  lol

BTDT, I've got a double door safe (from security products in Waco TX.)  Left door quit working twice, I finally got it open with two overcharged batteries the second time (higher than normal voltage ~ 0.2v higher) and pulled the interior door skin off to get to the lock mechanism.  I cleaned, degreased, and relubed the electrical connector between the keypad and the lock motor.  It's worked ever since (it's a good thing I had uninterrupted access to the right side of the safe...)
