All of the new eco technology relies on plastics;the same plastics that rely on petroleum? |

Not all plastics are petroleum based. ? Several Cellulose based plastics out there. Butyrate by Eastman Kodak is one - stuff smells like shit when processing though, and is very gooey when processed. Want to drive a car built from Butyrate? How about Bakelite? |

Want to drive a car built from Butyrate? How about Bakelite? Problem with cars built from all plastics is the rigidity of the plastics, not enough give which caused worse injuries to passengers over those cars which have crumple zones. I would have no problems owning a car made from plastics, save for the engine right now and the rigidity issue worked out. |

So, instead of digging for oil, we'll have to kill precious, precious plants??? This eco-green-liberal circle jerk just gets better and better. |
| Ever notice how the fist things to brake in a car or anything else for that matter is made from plastic? I have a client that sells plastic internationally, he says it is made from natural gas. I guess I'm just old but I would love to be able to buy a steel car again. |
